Jersey Shore House Racking Up the Views on Zillow

Is the Jersey Shore house in Seaside Heights the hottest property in America?

Inman News just posted an article with the top 10 most viewed properties on Zillow in 2011. Topping the list was the Seaside Heights house used for the filming of the popular MTV show Jersey Shore – perhaps an indication of just how slow a year 2011 was in real estate.

Interestingly enough, the Zillow estimate price for the Jersey Shore house is currently just $467,300, fueling more debate for the accuracy of the home value estimates provided by the real estate website. Though not currently for sale, the Zillow listing for 1209 Ocean Terrace does list rental information including these eye-popping rates for single nights:

SINGLE NIGHT RENTAL ONLY! RATES: Now until May 1 — $3,500 ($2,900 per night when you book 2 or more nights); May 1 – July 15 — $6,500 ($4,500 per night when you book 2 or more nights); Memorial Day and July 4 Weekends — $15,000 3-night rental (Friday-Monday) “The Jersey Shore” house is now available for one day/night rental. Have your graduation, Sweet Sixteen, bachelor or birthday party in one of the hottest properties on the East Coast. Book Now. Availability is limited.

With rental rates like that, the property value is likely much higher than the Zillow estimate. Of course, it’s only a matter of time before someone turns the house into some kind of museum or novelty attraction where beachgoers can pay admission to check out the  inside of the “Smush Room” or to see where The Situation once slept.

Coincidentally, the first episode of Season 5 airs on Thursday night following an all-day marathon of Jersey Shore.
